Mind and Body Activities To Do During Isolation/Quarantine

Create a journal where you can express your thoughts and feelings daily about anything that comes to mind. Questions you can answer while writing in your journal:

  1. How am I feeling today?
  2. Are there any goals I want to accomplish or I accomplished today?
  3. What one new thing I hope to do tomorrow?
  4. Write about something new you learned today.
  5. Talk about the positive things that happened in your day.
  6. Pick one word to describe your day and talk about why that word describes your day.

Try doing some yoga to calm you down. Yoga methods to try:

Step outside your front door and get some fresh air and sunlight. Practice breathing exercises while outside.

  • Make a schedule for yourself to keep you on track with all your regular work.
  • Use this time to learn something new you have always wondered about.
  • Play board games with those in your household.
  • Take breaks from the news and social media to just be with yourself sometimes and really take the time to let yourself feel rather than bottling everything up.

What is COVID-19?

  • A disease that causes respiratory illness.

What are the symptoms of coronavirus?

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
  • Pain or pressure in the chest
  • Fever
  • Coughing

How does coronavirus spread?

  • Coughs or sneezes, salvia or discharge from the nose.
  • Close personal contact: touching or shaking hands
  • Touching an object that the virus is on and then touching your face before washing your hands can spread the coronavirus because the virus can last on the surface for a certain amount of time. How long does coronavirus last on surfaces?

What will happen if the city is on lockdown?

  • People will be prevented from leaving a given area and must stay in their homes.
  • During this time essential supplies, grocery stores, pharmacies, and banks will continue to serve the people. Other non-essential activities will remain shut for a period of time.

Who is at risk for getting COVID-19?

  • Older people (65 years and older mostly) and any one with serious underlying medical conditions.
  • People who are pregnant
  • Anyone can be at risk, but folks with no underlying health risks might not be as greatly impacted.

What can I do to prevent getting the coronavirus?

  • Wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 sec, use alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol, clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently, cover sneezes and coughs, avoid touching your face, avoid making contact with anyone who is sick, and practice social distancing.
